Job summary

The Kaiser Permanente physical therapy residency program in Thousand Oaks is a 12-month commitment beginning the second-to-last Monday of December and ending the following December. Residents provide primary PT services and complete mandated clinical mentoring hours while meeting exam, didactic, and research requirements.

Twenty hours per week are spent in the Kaiser Permanente PT residency, with the remaining hours in the main PT department or satellite MOBs.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy and be eligible to practice in California.
• Licensure and certifications required at hire (PT license in CA, BLS, NPI).
• Program includes 850 hours clinical practice plus 150 hours mentored patient care.
• Includes didactic education and research participation.
• Includes 40-hour work week in Kaiser Permanente PT residency and 20 hours in main department or satellites.

Responsibilities

• Design physical therapy treatment programs in the specialty area that are medically prescribed.
• Provide in-service education programs to staff and students.
• Adhere to federal, state, local laws and Kaiser policies and procedures.
• Conduct clinical assessments and document findings.
• Mentor students and department staff in areas of clinical expertise.
