Job summary

Matrix Providers is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to perform a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exam in Augusta, GA. The examiner reviews pertinent mental health history and conducts the web-based assessment with professional care. Exams are completed electronically and forwarded to the U.S.

Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determinations. This full-time, hourly position offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00am to 4:00pm with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a psychologist or psychiatrist in at least one US state.
• PhD or PsyD in Psychology; adult focus (Clinical, Counseling, or School).
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficient with EMR and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams.
• Review mental health history documentation for each veteran.
• Complete electronic documentation and submit exams to the VA for disability determinations.
• Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality during examinations.

This is a hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $50.00-$55.62

Requirements

• Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one state in the United States.
• Psychiatrists or Neurologists must be board certified or must have completed a 2-year residency with either specialty.
• Psychologists must obtain a PhD or PsyD with a Major in Psychology; Specialty studies must focus on the adult population such as Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (or a combination of these). Child-focused psychology programs are not acceptable.
• Psychologists must have graduated from a doctorate or post-doctorate APA-accredited program.
• Certification: Have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to providing excellent service and care.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms.
• Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making.
• Works independently and can manage time in order to provide a quality service while meeting set deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in clinical settings
• Prior VA or C&P experience

Job Summary

Review pertinent mental health history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment behavioral health compensation and pensions exams for Veterans. The Clinical Psychologist will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.

Common reasons for assessment are PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
