Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a(n) nursing leadership professional to provide comprehensive management of a neurology clinical program on site in St. Louis. The role focuses on day-to-day operations, staffing, budget, and strategic program design while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Requires a BSN and RN licensure, plus 2-5 years of leadership experience and at least 2 years of supervisory responsibility. Preferred candidates hold a Master's degree and will work Monday to Friday on site.

• RN license to practice in the state.
• 2-5 years of experience in nursing leadership/management.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides effective leadership of the overall management of a clinical program, including day to day office operations, work redesign, budget and human resource management of nursing and clerical staff.
• Oversees strategic planning, program design/implementation, marketing and finance; may oversee managed care contracts and informatics.
• Manages staff hiring, training, evaluations, and professional development plans to meet department goals.
• Directs operations and integrates services within the unit and with other departments.
• Collaborates with care teams to ensure adherence to policies and optimal patient outcomes.

Role Purpose

Provides effective leadership of the overall management of a clinical program, including day to day office operations, work redesign, budget and human resource management of nursing and clerical staff. Also responsible for strategic planning, program design/implementation, marketing and finance. May also oversee managed care contracts and informatics.

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
• Directs operations and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.
• Collaborates with health care team members to provide patient care. Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and professional standards; keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions as needed.
• Ensures patients and families receive education throughout continuum of care.
• Monitors care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manages the health care of a specific population of patients.
