Job summary

SPECTRAFORCE in Foster City, CA seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex clinical development programs, coordinating cross-functional teams and governance activities.

The role requires 10+ years in science, a BS/MS/MBA or PhD/MD/DVM, and hands-on experience from Research through Phase II, with strong governance and Planisware data management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead one complex project team or two smaller teams.
  • Coordinate meetings and ensure progress between meetings.
  • Co-Chair Project Team meetings and manage communications.
  • Direct project communications to keep customers informed.
  • Organize PM support across functional areas.
  • Ensure Development Plans include timing, scope and resources.
  • Propose and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage project data in Planisware.
  • Prepare governance documents for governance reviews.
  • Support governance meetings and team projects.

Job description

Shift : Hybrid Position - Foster City - 3 days/week (T,W,Th) Local Candidates Only.

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:

10+ years of relevant experience and a BS in science;

8+ years of relevant experience and a MS or MBA; or

4+ years of relevant experience and a PhD in a scientific field or a PharmD, DVM or MD degree.

Experience should include 5 years of participation in cross-functional project management activities.

A scientific background is preferred.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing one complex or two less complex project teams.

Works in partnership with project leaders to ensure timely, efficient, and effective meetings, and to ensure adequate progress on team activities between meetings.

Co-Chairs Project Team meetings and is responsible for coordinating complex team operations and communications.

Directs project communications and ensures that all project customers are fully informed and knowledgeable of project activities and their status.

Organizes Project Management support for various functional areas on the Project, attends sub-team meetings; organizes ad hoc working groups.

Ensures that Development Plans integrate timing, scope and resources.

Proposes and implements plans to resolve such issues and execute corrective actions.

Manages project data (including timelines) in G.Plan (Planisware) and works with other project managers to align and validate data.

May author sections of Project Team documents.

Organizes preparation of high-quality documents for review by governance committees in collaboration with the project team and supports the Development Project Team (or Program Strategy Team) at Governance meetings.

Required Skills/ Experience/ Background-
Must have:
  • Strong scientific background.
Experience supporting programs from:
  • Research
  • Preclinical
  • IND
  • Phase I
  • At least through Phase II.
Governance experience.

Experience preparing governance materials.

Experience working with multidisciplinary scientific teams.

Preferred experience:
Candidates should have:
  • Experience supporting Research through Phase I clinical programs.
  • Clinical Development Program Management.
  • Cross-functional scientific leadership support.
Strong experience with:
  • Governance package preparation.
  • Executive presentations.
  • Decision-making forums.
Preferred experience working with:
  • External collaborators.
  • Strategic partnerships.
  • Cross-functional scientific organizations.

Virology experience is NOT mandatory.

Strong drug development experience is more important than specific therapeutic area experience.

Oncology experience can be beneficial due to similarities in long-term development strategy.

Candidates from other therapeutic areas are welcome if they possess strong drug development project management experience.
