Job summary

Pinnacle GI Partners in Rochester, MI is seeking a part-time healthcare authorization specialist to support timely access to medications, procedures, and services behind the scenes.

You will obtain prior authorizations, secure imaging and procedure approvals, coordinate referrals, and communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, insurers, and facilities. Strong medical terminology knowledge and EMR proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with insurance authorizations preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and specialty treatments.
• Secure authorizations for imaging, procedures, and other healthcare services.
• Coordinate specialty procedures and patient instructions.
• Prepare and submit physician orders to outside facilities.
• Assist with home care authorizations and referrals.
• Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, insurance companies, and healthcare facilities.
• Support patients through complex treatment processes.
