Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will implement plans under a licensed PT, assist with patient training, and participate in ongoing research activities across pediatric to adult populations.

Primary duties include conducting therapeutic exercises, collecting outcome measures, and helping develop educational materials. The role requires CPR certification and an active state license, with a strong emphasis on safety

Qualifications

• Two-year college program in Physical Therapy Assistance approved by APTA.
• Current license in the state to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• CPR certification every two years.

Responsibilities

• Carries out physical therapy programs as directed by the physical therapist in clinical and research applications.
• Involves training patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living.
• Collects clinical assessment scores, radiographic scores and health-related quality of life information.
• Performs a wide range of tests and evaluations in clinical or research settings.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Assists with research protocol and treatment development; ensures data quality.
• Develops and writes educational materials.
• Participates in staff meetings, forums, committees, and in-service training activities.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work.
