Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist to lead and participate in physical therapy programs, helping patients reach the maximum physical performance possible.

You will supervise in the absence of the Director, provide direct PT treatment, evaluate patients, and educate families to support home rehabilitation.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited PT program and licensure or eligibility to practice in the state of employment.

Qualifications

• Accredited school graduate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as Physical Therapist by the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Physical Therapy department in the absence of a Director.
• Provide direct physical therapy treatment to patients per physician orders.
• Evaluate patients from a physical therapy standpoint.
• Supervise physical therapy treatments provided by the PT Workers.
• Record patient response to treatment and re-evaluate status.
• Evaluate and adjust equipment used by patient and personnel.
• Maintain communication with physicians, nursing and other departments about PT treatments.
• Train patients' families in home rehabilitation techniques.
• Assist patients and families in goal setting and home adaptations.
• Provide in-service education and consultation on PT procedures to the health care team.
• Assist in clinical education of students or faculty as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy

Licensed or eligible for licensure as Physical Therapist by state where employed
