WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood and non-blood specimens, including urine and swabs, and to maintain chain-of-custody procedures when needed. The role requires handling various age groups and accurate labeling of samples.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, operating lab equipment, clerical tasks, and communicating effectively with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) preferred.
• Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience.

Responsabilités

• Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with minimal patient discomfort.
• Properly labels all specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment (centrifuges, computer systems, labeling printers, scanners, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with patients, clients, and staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing.
• Collect drug screens using Chain of Custody Process when applicable.
