Job summary

ALFA Specialty Pharmacy in Maryland is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to support long-term care and patient services. You will perform prescription and order entry, assist pharmacists, and ensure accurate documentation, while delivering professional communication with patients and care teams.

In this fast-paced, team-oriented role, you will help manage inventory, support workflow, and comply with federal and Maryland Board requirements, contributing to safe, effective medication

Qualifications

• Maryland Registered Pharmacy Technician is required or eligible for registration.
• Strong computer skills are required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude required.
• Preferred LTC pharmacy order entry experience.
• Closed-door pharmacy experience preferred.
• Medication packaging experience preferred.
• Experience communicating with healthcare professionals and residential facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate prescription and medication order entry.
• Maintain efficient production while ensuring exceptional accuracy.
• Support daily pharmacy workflow to ensure timely medication delivery.
• Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and workflow management.
• Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, and residential staff.
• Resolve routine questions and elevate clinical issues appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation per pharmacy policies.
• Support inventory management and medication packaging operations.
• Assist with quality assurance and workflow improvement.
• Comply with all federal regulations and Maryland Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Work collaboratively in a positive team environment.
