Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Dispensing Technician in Beetree Manor, Maryland. The technician will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications under their supervision.

Key responsibilities include preparing prescriptions, maintaining drug inventory, and ensuring accuracy in prescription information. Candidates must be licensed Pharmacy Technicians in Indiana with experience in Long Term Care pharmacy preferred.

Pharmacy Dispensing Technician

The Maryland Pharmacy Solutions Group is currently recruiting licensed Pharmacy Technicians.

Pharmacy Dispensing Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, help the pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients and consumers.

Qualifications

• Must be an Indiana licensed Pharmacy Technician. National Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist by retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, and at times mixing medication.
• Make requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacists.
• Receive and maintain inventory of drugs and chemicals and ensure their security.
• Verify that information on the prescription is complete and accurate.
• Print prescription labels and package prescriptions according to Long Term Care policy standards.
• Prepack medications using unit dose sealers.
• Monitor/document prepack product expiration dates and lot numbers appropriately.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
• Assist in automated compliance packaging dispensing process.
• Assist in Narcotic Room activities to prepare Controlled Substance prescriptions according to Long Term Care Standards and Pharmacy Policy and Procedures.
• Assist in preparing non-sterile compounded products.
• Assist in preparing sterile compounded products after appropriate training.
• Enter medication orders into pharmacy operating system. Knowledge of FrameworkLTC a plus.
