Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Tennessee.

The role focuses on delivering pharmaceutical care, monitoring therapy, and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe, effective drug use within a high-volume hospital setting. You will participate in drug-therapy management, participate in safety initiatives, and support inventory and ordering processes.

Qualifications

• TN Pharmacist licensure or eligible
• PGY-1 pharmacy residency, PGY-2 in infectious diseases, and/or hospital infectious diseases experience
• One-year hospital experience or equivalent
• Hospital pharmacy residency preferred
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• ACLS within 60 months of employment start date
• BLS within 60 months of employment start date
• Doctorate Degree, or Bachelors Degree

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care through monitoring and intervening in therapeutics to optimize outcomes
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints
• Determine and consult on possible drug interactions
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals
• Monitor, record and communicate using computerized documentation systems
• Utilize knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in duties and responsibilities

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services. The Clinical Pharmacist delivers pharmaceutical care services by monitoring and intervening in therapeutics to provide optimum outcomes in a cost-effective manner. The Clinical Pharmacist fulfills departmental responsibilities within the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital.

What you will do in this role:

• You will utilize good problem-solving abilities, making sure that problems are resolved, calling on other knowledgeable parties as necessary.
• You will maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.
• You will consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints.
• You will determine and consult on possible drug interactions.
• You will assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• You will monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will utilize knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current TN Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure
• PGY-1 pharmacy residency, PGY-2 pharmacy residency in infectious diseases, and/or hospital experience with an infectious diseases background.
• One-year hospital experience or equivalent
• Hospital pharmacy residency preferred
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start dateDoctorate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
