An established industry player is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding. In this role, you will oversee safe medication therapies, collaborate with healthcare teams, and provide essential drug information. Oversees the provision of safe and effective medication therapies through collaboration with the patient’s care team. Reviews physician orders for drug therapy and monitors this therapy for drug choice, dosage, drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and formulary adherence. Serves as a drug information resource to nurses, physicians, and other healthcare workers.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Works primarily in the pharmacy, delivering medications to nursing units. Requires considerable walking, standing, pushing a mobile cart up to 50 pounds, and lifting 25 pounds of material. May need to stretch, bend, squat, or kneel frequently. Uses appropriate PPE to minimize exposure to hazardous agents and takes precautions against needle sticks, cuts, or bruises. Exposed to various conditions including walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and temperature/humidity changes. Must perform manipulative skills such as writing, typing, and data entry. Must have use of both hands, clear vision for reading small print, and effective communication skills. Able to hear normal sounds amid moderate background noise. Involves rotating shifts.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school required. Licensed in North Carolina or eligible for reciprocity required. Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills required. Immunization Certification is required.
