Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacist to oversee the operation and quality assurance of the specialty pharmacy, ensuring accurate dispensing to patients in a safe, efficient manner. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team with clinical pharmacists, technicians and delivery personnel.

Responsibilities include clinical assessments, patient consultations, and provider communications, reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, and maintaining records, inventory and data integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and pharmacist license.
  • 3–5 years related work experience.
  • Knowledge of drug information, disease state management, and legal requirements of pharmacy practices.
  • Understanding of insurance adjudication processes.
  • Working knowledge of inventory processes.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality assurance of prescriptions and medications to dispense.
  • Performs clinical assessments and reassessments and documents clinical interventions per protocol.
  • Dispenses prescribed medications, reviews prescriptions for accuracy, directs packaging/labeling, answers questions on drug interactions and storage.
  • Maintains procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost to maintain accurate pharmacy files, billing, and inventory.
