Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Direct Staff Pharmacist to ensure quality assurance of pharmacy services, dispense accuracy, and safe patient care. You will participate in interdisciplinary teams and advise on therapy, documentation, and system-wide programs.

Responsibilities include resolving therapy discrepancies, documenting ADRs, and supporting training. Licensed pharmacists in MA with PharmD preferred will contribute to ongoing patient care and program improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• PharmD preferred.
• Massachusetts Pharmacist license required.
• 0-1 years related work experience.
• Basic understanding of insurance and adjudication processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Ability to produce complex documents and maintain databases.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions, resolves discrepancies in patient therapy, and follows-up on problems.
• Utilizes clinical data in evaluating physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy.
• Provides and documents drug information and patient counseling.
• Documents interventions, ADRs, and medication errors.
• Directs and utilizes personnel including technicians and clerical staff.
• Maintains adequate medication supply in the work area.
• Participates in staff in-services and meetings related to programs.
• Operates and troubleshoots automated dispensing systems as needed.
• Advises prescribers on alternatives for non-formulary drugs.
• Uses inpatient/outpatient systems to access patient care information.
• Participates in quality management and utilization review.
• May coordinate a small team for projects or SOP review.
• May assist in staff training curriculum development and execution.
• Participate in orientation and training of new staff.
