Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a pharmacist to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to a specialty patient population. The role includes attending medical team rounds, selecting and dosing therapies, and performing therapeutic drug monitoring to optimize outcomes.

You will also coordinate inservice education, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and support research efforts within the Pharmacy Division.

Qualifications

  • PharmD Degree is required.
  • Pharmacist license must be Ohio.
  • Completion of PGY1 residency.
  • PGY2 residency in pediatrics or relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to a specialty patient population, including attendance at medical team rounds, selection and dosing of medications, therapeutic drug monitoring and adjustment of therapies.
  • Complete population-based drug use evaluations and performance improvement initiatives to improve outcomes and safety.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call coverage for pharmacy clinical services to the assigned medical team.
  • Serve as a preceptor and resource to Pharmacy Residents, Pharmacists, pharmacy interns and students.
  • Present accredited continuing education programs and assist in development of clinical educational opportunities.
  • Coordinate inservice education of medical and nursing staff for the assigned patient care area.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and committees.
  • Contribute to research projects and disseminate knowledge via posters, regional or national presentations, or publications.

Expected Starting Pay Range: $126,089.60 - $163,924.80
Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to a specialty patient population on a daily basis, including attendance at medical team rounds, selection and dosing of medication therapies, therapeutic drug monitoring and adjustment of drug therapies.
  • Complete population based drug use evaluations and performance improvement initiatives (order sets, Epic alerts, guidelines, protocols, etc.) to improve outcome and safety for the specialty patient population.
  • Provide 24/7 on‑call coverage for pharmacy clinical services to the assigned medical team.
  • Serve as a preceptor and resource to the Pharmacy Residents, Pharmacists (Pharmacist I, II, and III), pharmacy interns and students.
  • Present accredited continuing education programs to the Division of Pharmacy and assist in the development and implementation of clinical therapeutic educational opportunities of the division.
  • Coordinate inservice education of medical and nursing staffs for assigned patient care area.
  • Participate in improving organizational performance and patient safety through identification and implementation of improvement initiatives as well as participation on committees and improvement teams for their specialty patient population and the division of pharmacy.
  • Actively participate in the development, implementation and ongoing coordination of research projects and/or share knowledge and information through posters, regional or national presentations, or publications.
Job Qualifications
  • PharmD Degree
  • Pharmacist License in the state of Ohio
  • PGY1 Residency
  • PGY2 Residency in pediatrics or relevant patient population specialty
