Job summary

Mercy is seeking a licensed pharmacist to oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications, verify orders, monitor patient therapy, and serve as a resource on medication information for patients and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from ACPE-accredited school/college.
• Current pharmacist license from State Board of Pharmacy.
• Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Pharmacists practicing in Missouri must have a Medication Therapy Service Certificate within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications and verify medication orders.
• Monitor patient medication therapy and intervene to prevent medication-related problems.
• Serve as a resource for medication information for patients, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Identify, resolve and prevent medication-related problems through physician intervention.
• Supervise and direct pharmacy support personnel to ensure timeliness of medication administration.
• Follow approved policies, procedures, protocols and regulatory standards in daily responsibilities.

Position Details:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a School or College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
