Inova Health System seeks a Clinical Pharmacist Retail Floater to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The role is full-time with a rotating schedule including day, evening, night, weekend, and overnight shifts.

The position primarily supports the Pharmacy Services Center in Chantilly with coverage across four retail locations in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Fair Oaks. You will provide clinical consultations and assist with operational needs, ensuring safe medication use.

Qualifications

• Education: PharmD or Bachelor degree in Pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist in VA.
• Experience: PGY1 Residency.
• Certification: BLS, ACLS for Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, and PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, prepares, and verifies medication orders as appropriate.
• Provides clinical consultation and cost-effective alternatives.
• Issues controlled substances in compliance according to the DEA and VA Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Participates in the medication formulary review and approval process.
• Monitors drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Reports adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
• Minimizes non-formulary procurement and supports substitutions.
• Supervises pharmacy support staff.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement.
• Participates in decentralized rounding with clinical teams and responds to emergent bedside alerts and codes.

Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist Retail Floater to join the team. This role will be full-time rotating schedule- day, evening, night, weekend, and overnight shifts.

This role will primarily be based at our Pharmacy Services Center in Chantilly, Virginia, with regular float coverage across four retail pharmacy locations in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Fair Oaks.

The position is part of our retail pharmacy hub and includes providing clinical consultations as well as supporting operational needs at the retail sites. Candidates must be available to work a rotating schedule that may include day, evening, night, weekend, and overnight shifts.

Clinical Pharmacist Job Responsibilities:

• May perform additional duties as assigned, including, but not limited to:
  • Participating in decentralized rounding with clinical teams.
  • Responding to emergent bedside alerts and codes (adult and pediatric as designated).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor degree in Pharmacy.

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.

• Experience: PGY1 Residency.

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year as a pharmacist.
