Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The role involves patient care and developing effective, professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

**This position will work normal clinical hours, Monday - Friday. It is fully remote. Applicants must** **be licensed in CO, MT, UT, or NV to qualify.**

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness, and drug interactions. Implements evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are dispensed accurately.
  2. Oversees or participates in ensuring medications are prepared and delivered timely, stored securely, and appropriate for stability and workflow.
  3. Provides counseling to patients, promotes medication education and adherence, and ensures respectful, professional service.
  4. Completes regulatory and compliance training, maintains clear documentation, and stays compliant with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervises interns, technicians, and support staff as required. Provides clinical consultation and clarification to other healthcare professionals.
  6. Proactively addresses issues related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identifies areas for process improvement and safety hazards, taking appropriate actions and contributing ideas in departmental meetings.
  8. Supports clinical, compliance, operational, standardization, and customer service directives at the system level.
  9. Supports pharmacy leadership initiatives locally and enterprise-wide.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances in the state of practice.
  • Current knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in retail pharmacy, refill authorization, integrated healthcare systems, Board Certification, or Health System Pharmacy Residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Visual acuity for reading labels, documents, and monitors.
  • Verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for handling supplies and equipment, including computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Work Hours:** 40 hours/week, with hourly rates ranging from $59.86 to $87.98 depending on experience.
