Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. This position is responsible for patient care and developing effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

**This position will work regular clinical hours, Monday - Friday. It is a fully remote position. Applicants must** **be licensed in CO, MT, UT, or NV to qualify.**

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interactions. Makes evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies, and accurately dispensing medications.
  2. Oversees and/or participates in ensuring medications are prepared, delivered timely, stored securely, and appropriate for stability and workflow.
  3. Provides counseling to patients, promotes medication education and adherence, ensuring patients are well-informed, treated with respect, and receive professional service.
  4. Completes regulatory and compliance training, maintains clear documentation, and stays compliant with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervises and directs interns, technicians, and support personnel as required, providing clinical consultation to other health professionals.
  6. Proactively solves problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identifies areas for process improvement, safety hazards, and participates in departmental meetings with feedback and ideas.
  8. Supports clinical, compliance, business, standardization, and customer service directives at clinic or hospital levels.
  9. Supports pharmacy leadership initiatives locally and enterprise-wide.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.
  • Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Effective communication, management, and project skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in retail pharmacy, refill authorization, integrated healthcare systems, Board Certification, or Health System Pharmacy Residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Visual and manual dexterity for reading, manipulating supplies, and computer use.
  • Frequent communication with staff and patients, requiring clear verbal and listening skills.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 40

The hourly rate ranges from $59.86 to $87.98, depending on experience.
