Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The role involves patient care and developing effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

**This position works normal clinical hours, Monday - Friday. It is fully remote. Applicants must be licensed in CO, MT, UT, or NV to qualify.**

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interactions. Makes evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are accurately dispensed.
  2. Oversees and/or participates in ensuring medications are prepared and delivered timely, stored securely, and appropriate for stability and workflow.
  3. Provides counseling to patients, promoting medication education and adherence, ensuring respectful, professional service.
  4. Completes regulatory and compliance training, maintains clear documentation, and adheres to laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervises and directs interns, technicians, and support staff as needed; provides clinical consultation to other health professionals.
  6. Proactively solves problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identifies process improvements for patient satisfaction and safety hazards, taking appropriate actions; participates in departmental meetings.
  8. Supports clinic, hospital, and system directives, including clinical, compliance, business, and customer service initiatives.
  9. Supports local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • License to practice pharmacy in the state and dispense controlled substances.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication, management, and project skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in retail pharmacy, refill authorization, healthcare systems, board certification, or residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Visual acuity for reading labels, documents, and monitors.
  • Verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for handling supplies and computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Work Hours:** 40 hours/week, with salary range $59.86 - $87.98/hour.
