Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. It is responsible for patient care and developing effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

**This position will work normal clinical hours, Monday - Friday. It is a fully remote position. Applicants must be licensed in CO, MT, UT, or NV to qualify.**

**Essential Functions:**

1. Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interactions. Makes evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are accurately dispensed.
2. Oversees and/or participates in ensuring appropriate medications are prepared and delivered timely, stored securely, and are stable and suitable for workflow.
3. Provides counseling to patients, promotes medication education and adherence, and ensures respectful, professional service.
4. Completes regulatory and compliance training, maintaining clear documentation, and adheres to legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.
5. Supervises and directs interns, technicians, and support staff as required, providing clinical consultation to other health professionals.
6. Proactively addresses problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
7. Identifies areas for process improvement, safety hazards, and contributes ideas in departmental meetings.
8. Supports organizational directives and leadership initiatives.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
• Immunization certification if applicable.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Experience in retail pharmacy, refill authorization, healthcare delivery systems, Board Certification, or Health System Residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

• Visual acuity for reading, identifying equipment, and assessing needs.
• Verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
• Manual dexterity for handling supplies and equipment, including computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 40

The hourly rate ranges from $59.86 to $87.98, depending on experience.
