Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. It is responsible for patient care and developing effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

**This position works normal clinical hours, Monday - Friday, fully remote. Applicants must be licensed in CO, MT, UT, or NV.**

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness, and drug interactions; makes evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use; ensures therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are accurately dispensed.
  2. Oversees and participates in ensuring medications are prepared, delivered timely, stored securely, and appropriate for stability and workflow.
  3. Provides counseling to patients, promotes medication education and adherence, ensuring respectful, professional service.
  4. Completes all regulatory and compliance training, maintains clear documentation, and complies with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervises interns, technicians, and support staff as needed; provides clinical consultation to other health professionals.
  6. Proactively solves problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identifies process improvements and safety hazards, takes corrective actions, and contributes to departmental meetings.
  8. Supports organizational directives and leadership initiatives.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.
  • Current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication, management, and project skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Previous retail pharmacy experience.
  • Refill authorization experience.
  • Experience in an integrated healthcare system.
  • Board Certification or Residency experience.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Visual acuity for reading labels, documents, and monitors.
  • Verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for handling supplies and equipment, including computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 40

The hourly range is $59.86 - $87.98, depending on experience.
