Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Pharmacist PRN to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and oversee medication distribution. The Staff Pharmacist will ensure accurate transcription of orders, validate drug therapy, and participate in daily rounds to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include IV/chemo preparation under aseptic technique, collaboration with clinical staff, and managing ADMs.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist credential required.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician orders accurately into the system.
• Verifies drug, dosage, route, patient, and time for orders.
• Calculates dosages to support patient care.
• Performs daily rounds to verify pharmaceutical care.
• Oversees preparation of IV products and chemotherapy using aseptic technique.
• Distributes medications to maintain high level of pharmaceutical care.
• Communicates effectively with other disciplines.
• Recommends alternative therapies to optimize outcomes.
• Manages automated dispensing machines and verifies medications before distribution.
