Overview
Job Summary: This pharmacist position will provide pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. The role includes promoting cost-effective drug therapy management in emergency situations and working closely with technicians, nurses, and medical staff to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in acute care areas. The pharmacist will:
- Adhere to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment using communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
- Assist with verification of medication orders and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
- Coordinate and participate in the education of pharmacists and other healthcare professionals regarding pharmacotherapy.
- Initiate and/or participate in medication utilization evaluations.
- Participate in drug therapy management during emergency situations.

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:
- Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses.
- Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization.
- Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork.
- Continuously update and document skills and knowledge.
- Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations.
- Set personal goals to support departmental objectives.
- Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines.
- Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
What You Will Need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
Nice To Have (Not Required):
- One to two years of experience preferred.
- Completion of a residency and/or equivalent experience in clinical pharmacy preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
