Overview

Job Summary: This pharmacist position will provide pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. The role includes promoting cost-effective drug therapy management in emergency situations and working closely with technicians, nurses, and medical staff to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in acute care areas. The pharmacist will:

  • Adhere to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment using communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
  • Assist with verification of medication orders and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Coordinate and participate in the education of pharmacists and other healthcare professionals regarding pharmacotherapy.
  • Initiate and/or participate in medication utilization evaluations.
  • Participate in drug therapy management during emergency situations.

  • PRN, variable shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Location: Winston Campus

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:

  • Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses.
  • Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization.
  • Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork.
  • Continuously update and document skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Set personal goals to support departmental objectives.
  • Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines.
  • Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy

Nice To Have (Not Required):

  • One to two years of experience preferred.
  • Completion of a residency and/or equivalent experience in clinical pharmacy preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and ongoing learning and skills development.
