Job summary

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients, ensuring safe procurement, preparation, labelling and distribution of medications. You will work with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize therapy and patient safety.

The role requires Florida pharmacist licensure or eligibility, experience in hospital settings, and strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
  • Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible; NAPLEX eligibility.
  • Experience in acute-care hospital settings or residency preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills; ability to work with physicians and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop clinical pharmacy programs to meet patient population needs.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support across patient areas and ensure safe medication use.
  • Review orders, verify drug choices, dosage, route, and interactions; adjust as needed per policy.
  • Ensure safe dispensing and monitoring of controlled substances; reconcile narcotics.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to address consults and provide drug information.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As our pharmacist you would provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients and ensure the safe procurement, preparation, labelling, distribution and control of all medications. What will you do in this role:


  • You will coordinate and assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the requirements and needs of the patient population and community.

  • You will provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas.

  • You will review medication orders and quality of technicians work to ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route and interactions. Adjust medications dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition as per policy.

  • You will ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age.

  • You will closely monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances that are dispensed and reconcile the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy.

  • You will assist the department in addressing physician consult as needed. Provide timely retrieval of reliable drug information from available sources.

  • You will communicate effectively and work with physicians and/or other members of the interdisciplinary team in meeting patient needs.


What qualifications you will need:



  • Bachelor of Science or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy

  • Experience as a pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency preferred.

  • Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible.

  • Eligible to sit for North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX).

  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
