Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time pharmacist to join our onsite retail pharmacy. You will interpret orders, fill prescriptions, educate patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective medication use.

The role requires a Massachusetts pharmacist license (or intern license with license obtained within 90 days) and a PharmD is preferred. Hospital pediatric experience is highly valued; expect rotating days/evenings/weekends and strong

Qualifications

• Massachusetts pharmacist license required; license must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Hospital-based retail pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting and evaluating medication orders to ensure appropriate drug and dosage and to identify adverse reactions; contact physician as needed.
• Reviewing, filling and dispensing physician orders/prescriptions.
• Checking orders/prescriptions filled by support personnel and ensuring correct preparation and labeling.
• Providing drug information as a subject matter expert.
• Providing patient education.
• Completing medication history documentation.
• Performing quality improvement activities.
• Supervising support personnel within the assigned work area and ensuring procedures are followed.
