Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Bethlehem, PA, seeks a licensed pharmacist to provide quality pharmaceutical care, review prescriptions, and dispense medications in accordance with current standards.

Qualifications

• Doctorate Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Ability to accurately dispense and monitor medications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to make independent judgments under stressful situations.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to drug distribution and security.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medications for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Evaluates evidence-based literature to optimize drug therapy.
• Ensures and executes policies for appropriate, cost-effective, and safe medication use.
• Performs clinical medication surveillance, documents interventions, reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
• Coordinates the activities of pharmacy technicians engaged in preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications and supplies.
• Counsels/Provides drug information pertaining to medications, drug usage, and compatibility to physicians, nurses, patients.
• Weighs, measures, and prepares sterile and non-sterile medication products.
• Acts as a resource to other healthcare professionals regarding therapy decisions.
