Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health System in Shreveport, LA seeks a licensed pharmacist to ensure safe, rational drug therapy in a multidisciplinary team. You will prepare, dispense and verify medications for a patient group, assess therapy, provide drug information and patient education.

The role requires a BS in Pharmacy (Pharm.D preferred), a current state license, strong computer skills, and excellent communication. You will participate in compliance, ongoing education, and support pharmacy operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Pharm.D preferred.
• Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice.
• Computer skills and data entry ability.
• Proficiency with Windows applications and keyboard.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates physician orders based on clinical patient assessment.
• Prepares and dispenses medications safely, including sterile products.
• Manages drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes and provide patient education.
• Maintains licensure and continuing education obligations.
• Ensures pharmacy operations comply with state and federal regulations.
• Adapts communication to the patient population with respect for privacy.
