Job summary

Qualifications

  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree required.
  • Active pharmacist licensure with NC Board of Pharmacy or eligible before initiation of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Receives prescriptions, interprets prescriptions, and reviews the patient's medication profile/history.
  • Provides optimal drug therapy recommendations using patient data and makes clinical interventions with the provider.
  • Compounds and oversees dispensing of medications including sterile products.
  • Ensures compliance with formulary and therapeutic substitutions to optimize therapy and control costs.
  • Completes required documentation in medical records and related systems.
  • Counsels patients and families on pharmaceutical care issues as requested.
  • Directs workflow of the shift and supervises technicians, students, and volunteers.
  • Adheres to all applicable policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
  • Participates in process improvement opportunities and precepts students and residents.
