Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK seeks a Day Shift, full-time Float Clinical Pharmacist Operations Specialist to oversee daily operations of operational specialty practice areas and provide pharmaceutical care.

The role includes training, testing, and acting as a subject matter expert, with responsibilities to support staff and residents. Requires ACPE-accredited degree, PGY-1 (and possibly PGY-2) training, and Oklahoma license.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
• Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or fellowship and PGY-2 Specialty Residency or fellowship (in an appropriate specialty field).
• OR completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or fellowship and 3+ years clinical pharmacy experience (if no PGY-2 is completed).
• OR 5+ years clinical pharmacy experience with no history of residency or fellowship.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
• Other applicable state requirements such as sterile compounding.
• BLS certification.
• ALS/ ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of operational specialty practice areas within the pharmacy department (IV room, diversion/narcotics management, informatics, residency program director/coordinator, and others).
• Provide pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist as needed; support user assistance and maintenance activities and troubleshoot as required.
• Coordinate upgrade testing activities, education, and serve as the subject matter expert for the operational specialty practice area.
• Coordinate and provide training for operational specialty practice areas as needed; serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students or residents.

Job Requirements:

• B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy .
• Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting
  • Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or fellowship AND Completion of an accredited PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy Residency or fellowship (in an appropriate specialty field) .
  • OR Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or fellowship AND 3+year’s clinical pharmacy experience (if no PGY-2 is completed) .
  • OR 5+year’s clinical pharmacy experience with no history of residency or fellowship .
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy .
• Other applicable state requirements – i.e. sterile compounding, etc .
• BLS certification .
• ALS/ ACLS certification .

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy .
• Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification (applicable to the specialty practice area) or other recognized nationally recognized training or certification (applicable to the specialty practice area) .
