Job summary

Hillcrest Healthcare System in Tulsa, OK is seeking a day shift, full-time Float Clinical Pharmacist Operations Specialist to oversee specialty practice areas and provide patient care.

You will lead operations in IV room, narcotics management, informatics, and residency programs; train staff and serve as preceptor; require PharmD or BS, hospital experience, Oklahoma license, and BLS/ALS credentials.

Qualifications

• Must hold a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy from ACPE-accredited school.
• Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
• BLS certification.
• ALS/ACLS certification.
• Completion of PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or fellowship; PGY-2 Specialty Residency or fellowship preferred; or 3+ years with no PGY-2; or 5+ years with no residency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of operational specialty practice areas within the pharmacy.
• Provide pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist when needed.
• Provide user support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensure policies are followed.
• Coordinate upgrade testing and education; serve as SME for the area.
• Precept pharmacy students or residents.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of operational specialty practice areas (IV room, diversion/narcotics management, informatics, residency program director/coordinator, and others) within the pharmacy department and providing pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist as needed.
• They will provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality,and ensure policies and procedures are developed, implemented,documented, and followed.
• The operations specialist coordinates upgrade testing activities, education,and serves as the subject matter expert for the operational specialty practice area.
• Coordinate and serve as a subject matter expert and provide training as needed for operational specialty practice areas.
• Must serve as the preceptor for pharmacy students or residents.

Job Requirements:

• B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting
  • Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or fellowshipANDCompletion of an accredited PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy Residency or fellowship (in an appropriate specialty field).
  • ORCompletion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or fellowshipAND3+year’s clinical pharmacy experience (if no PGY-2 is completed).
  • OR 5+year’s clinical pharmacy experience with no history of residency or fellowship.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
• Other applicable state requirements – i.e. sterile compounding, etc.
• BLS certification.
• ALS/ACLS certification.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification (applicable to the specialty practice area) or other recognized nationally recognized training or certification (applicable to the specialty practice area).
