Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions seeks a Pharmacist for Long Term Care in Norfolk, VA. The role involves dispensing medications, maintaining resident medical records, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a on-site setting.

You will supervise sterile IV preparations as needed, manage controlled substances, and collaborate with technicians to reconcile inventory. A valid Virginia pharmacist license and PharmD are required, with 2+ years acute-care experience or 1 year as production pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in Virginia.
• Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years recent acute-care experience or one year as a production pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, verifying completeness and correctness of labels and orders.
• Maintain resident database with current medical history, clinical data, and medication records.
• Assist in ordering, handling, receiving, documenting, and storing controlled substances, including perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacy technicians to reconcile inventory and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to drug-related questions and concerns from staff and external contacts, providing clinical expertise.
• Document all communication with healthcare providers, staff, residents, and families in medical records.
• Supervise or prepare sterile IV drug products and solutions as required.
