Job summary

The Clinical Pharmacist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. oversees the medication distribution system for their area. They identify, prevent, and resolve drug therapy problems to ensure each medication is indicated, effective, safe, and convenient for the patient.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, assuring drug therapy appropriateness, and implementing processes to maintain high-quality pharmacy services. A Doctorate of Pharmacy and PA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• PGY2 Pharmacy Residency or PGY1 Pharmacy Residency plus 2 years of relevant experience; or 5 years with no residency.
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles for monitoring and dosing medications.
• RP - Registered Pharmacist - State of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with coworkers, visitors and staff following Jefferson values.
• Assures appropriateness of drug therapy and compliance with hospital policies.
• Oversees distribution of medications throughout TJUH.
• Supports implementation of processes to ensure quality of Pharmacy services.
• Trains technicians, residents, students, interns and new pharmacists as assigned.
• Precepts student pharmacists and residents as assigned.
