Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to provide decentralized inpatient pharmacy services, floating to various areas as needed to support operations. The PRN role offers flexible shifts and exposure to Magnet Hospital practices in a major academic health system.

The ideal candidate will hold a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, be licensed or eligible for licensure within 90 days, and maintain BLS with immunization certification.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor�s in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation within 90 days of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the AHA or American Red Cross and completion of an immunization course within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide decentralized medication services and support inpatient pharmacy operations.
• Float to other areas as needed to support pharmacy services and staffing.
• Verify medication orders and dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
• Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
• Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will provide decentralized pharmacy services while supporting inpatient pharmacy operations. The caregiver will have opportunities to float to other areas as needed to support pharmacy services and staffing needs.

This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work a variety of shifts throughout the week.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based medication services.
• Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
• Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
• Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for individuals administering immunizations

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Board certification
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
• Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area

Physical Requirements

• Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
• Must have normal or corrected vision.
• Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
