Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of practice
• Graduate of school of pharmacy required
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
• One year of technical experience preferred
• Inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Processes, enters, verifies, and distributes medication orders in a timely manner per policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensures medication therapy is efficacious, safe, and cost effective.
• Verifies that prescribing is appropriate with respect to indication, dose, route, frequency, allergies, and interactions.
• Conducts daily medication utilization reports to identify areas for improvement.
• Performs quality assurance procedures in related areas.
• Participates in pharmacy services, rounds, and order verification.
• Advocates for regulatory compliance and cost savings.
• Assists in process improvement and development of new pharmacy services.

Education

Graduate of school of pharmacy

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree

One year's technical experience

Inpatient clinical pharmacy experience

Pharmacist license in the state of practice

All licensures and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Pharmacist at the state level
