Clinical Pharmacist – Infusion Pharmacy

- Contract: Initial contract with potential extension up to 120 days
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with infusion pharmacy experience to support pharmacy operations in Bentonville, Arkansas. The pharmacist will be responsible for prescription review and dispensing, patient consultation, medication safety, sterile compounding, inventory management, and oversight of pharmacy staff. Infusion pharmacy experience is required. Candidates without hands-on infusion pharmacy experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
- Evaluate prescriptions for appropriateness, drug interactions, dosing, contraindications, and potential medication-related problems.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential medication overuse or misuse.
- Prepare and compound medications for internal and external use.
- Prepare sterile solutions and medications in accordance with applicable procedures and pharmacy standards.
- Provide medication counseling regarding proper administration, dosage, storage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and safe medication handling.
- Answer patient questions and provide consultation regarding prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Ensure medication handling and dispensing practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and pharmacy standards.
- Supervise and provide direction to pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy support staff as applicable.
- Educate patients on the appropriate use and handling of medical devices, such as blood glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Provide appropriate patient-care services and medication education.
Required Qualifications
- Current pharmacist license in the state of Arkansas required.
- Hands-on infusion pharmacy experience required.
- Experience with sterile compounding and preparation of sterile medications.
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, drug interactions, dosing, and medication safety.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Arkansas-licensed pharmacist with direct infusion pharmacy experience, strong sterile compounding knowledge, and the ability to provide both clinical and operational pharmacy support.
Important
Infusion pharmacy experience is a mandatory qualification for this position.
Compensation & Contract
$65.75/hour Initial contract assignment with the potential to extend for up to 120 days, based on business needs and performance.
