Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Pharmacist Leader to provide medication therapy management and oversee pharmacy services in collaboration with clinicians. You will supervise technicians, participate in patient care rounds, and ensure compliance with board and regulatory standards.

The role requires PharmD, Maryland license, and substantial experience in hospital or specialty pharmacy settings, with a preference for board certification and hospital experience.

Qualifications

• PharmD required unless graduated from a U.S. School of Pharmacy in or before 2003 or foreign equivalent.
• 3 years of experience or PGY-1 residency.
• 1 year of specialty pharmacy experience required for retail areas.
• Maryland Pharmacist License.
• Board Certification preferred; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides pharmaceutical care to patients including optimal drug therapy and safe use of medications.
• Collaborates with and educates pharmacy and medical staff, nurses, and caregivers; acts as a preceptor.
• Manages care, quality, and costs by evaluating and improving medication utilization.
• Oversees and directs work of pharmacy staff and ensures service standards.
• Participates in direct patient care and supports interdisciplinary rounds.
• Assists in policy development and hospital committee participation.
