MedStar Health is seeking a Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to hospitalized patients under supervision of a senior pharmacist/manager. You will evaluate physician orders, dispense medications, and prepare IV admixtures, including hazardous agents, ensuring safety and adherence to regulations.

The role requires 1–2 years of hospital experience (PGY-1 preferred) and active RPH licensure.

Qualificações

• Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college required or an equivalent Pharmacy degree.
• 1–2 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred (PGY-1).
• RPH – Licensed Pharmacist in state of practice Upon Hire; board certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and thoroughness; resolves discrepancies with physicians and nursing staff.
• Prepares IV admixtures and compounds sterile products (TPN, large-volume parenteral, hazardous agents).
• Dispenses medications and maintains inventory of controlled substances according to laws and policies.
• Counsels patients and families on safe medication use and potential adverse effects.
• Monitors drug therapy, checks contraindications, and ensures appropriate drug selection.
• Oversees workflow of technicians and ensures accuracy in preparation and packaging.
• Participates in education programs, quality improvement, and departmental meetings.
