Job summary

Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, IA is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team. The pharmacist will review physician orders, evaluate patient data, and ensure safe and effective drug therapies for patients of all ages.

You will dispense medications, supervise technicians, monitor drug therapies, and help maintain compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
• Prefer at least two years' experience in hospital pharmacy.
• Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand medication orders and communicate with health care professionals.
• Must understand drug composition, uses, actions and interactions.
• Numerical ability needed to measure, compound, and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Review orders and patient data to prepare medications and ensure correct pharmacokinetic dosing.
• Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling for patients of all ages.
• Monitor drug therapies and advise health care practitioners on interventions.
• Organize and direct technicians' workflow and verify preparation and labeling.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and keep current registration and records for controlled substances.
