Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a Pharmacist to perform distribution, compounding, and medication therapy monitoring across infant to geriatric patients in a hospital setting. The role includes supervising pharmacy technicians and engaging in patient-centered clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Candidates must be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD/Bachelor's in Pharmacy and be licensed to practice in Georgia. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia; license required upon hire.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents, and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy across all ages, including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and ensures order accuracy; participates in patient-focused clinical activities throughout the hospital.

Overview:

****This position is 7 on/7 off starting Wednesday night and ending Tuesday night 9pm-7:30am****

Responsibilities:

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy Required
