Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Westwood, NJ is seeking a variable shift, full-time Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacist to optimize patient care through safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical services. You will dispense medications, participate in IV admixture, and provide drug information under supervision of the Pharmacy Director.

The role requires an ACPE-accredited PharmD or B.S. with license, hospital clinical experience, residency/fellowship or 2+ years of experience, and current BLS/ALS

Qualifications

• Hospital clinical pharmacy experience is required or equivalent.
• Completion of PGY-1 residency or fellowship, or 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience without residency.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ALS/ACLS within 90 days.
• Sterile compounding and other state requirements as applicable.

• Optimizes patient care by providing safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical services.
• Dispenses medications and participates in IV admixture program.
• Provides drug information and supports pharmacy staff under supervision of leadership.

Responsibilities

The clinical pharmacist optimizes patient care by providing appropriate, safe, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care, including drug dispensing, an IV admixture program, and providing drug information. Works under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Pharmacy Operations Manager and will oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
  • Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or fellowship.
• OR
• 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience with no history of residency or fellowship.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
• Other applicable state requirements – i.e., sterile compounding, etc.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ALS/ACLS certification (within 90 days of hire; ALS/ACLS required for attending Code Blue)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
