Job summary

Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a variable shift, full-time Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacist. The role focuses on optimizing patient care through safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical services and an IV admixture program, under supervision of Pharmacy Director and Operations Manager.

Candidates should have a PharmD or BS with ACPE accreditation, PGY-1 residency or 2+ years hospital experience, active state license, and BLS/ALS certifications. Competitive benefits available.

Responsibilities

The clinical pharmacist optimizes patient care by providing appropriate, safe, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care, including drug dispensing, an IV admixture program, and providing drug information. Works under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Pharmacy Operations Manager and will oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff.

Qualifications

Job Requirements :

• B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
  • Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or fellowship.
• OR
• 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience with no history of residency or fellowship.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
• Other applicable state requirements – i.e., sterile compounding, etc.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ALS/ACLS certification (within 90 days of hire; ALS/ACLS required for attending Code Blue)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
