Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a licensed pharmacist to advance clinical skills in a fast-paced pediatric environment. You will work with neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, cardiac critical care and oncology teams to ensure safe, effective medication therapy.

Responsibilities include supervising technicians, participating in committees, and providing MTM services and drug information. Prior clinical experience is valued, with PRN and limited monthly hours available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPh) with MO Medication Therapy Services.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages workflow including oversight of technicians, interns and volunteers ensuring the accuracy of their work in accordance with departmental procedures and Federal and State regulations.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and on committees at the health service organization, as appropriate.
  • Serves as medication therapy resource for activities such as drug information, training of staff, transitions of care and Medication Therapy Services.
  • Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.
  • Recognize opportunities and offer solutions to maximize efficiency and promote safety within the medication use process.

Are you a licensed pharmacy looking for an opportunity to advance your skills in a fast paced, clinically oriented environment?

Our outstanding team of pharmacists and technicians prepare and dispense medication therapies for our pediatric patient population. In this role, you would interact with a number of specialties, including neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, cardiac critical care and oncology. Pharmacists use state of the art computer systems and technology to provide patient care, and respond to and participate in emergency code/trauma events.

  • Every 3rd Friday; 4 - 10 PM

  • 16 hrs per month

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Ensure prompt and accurate medication preparation and dispensing. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Supervise and direct supportive personnel. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications.
