Job summary

CaroMont Health in Gastonia, NC seeks a pharmacist leader to oversee specialty areas and support the hospital’s pharmaceutical care. You will educate physicians, staff and the community, mentor residents and students, and coordinate care delivery through order sets, protocols and multidisciplinary rounds.

As the subject matter expert, you will help develop policies, revise procedures, and participate in rounds to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from a recognized college or university.
• Current NC pharmacy license required.
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred; specialty residency preferred; board certification within 18 months of hire or eligibility.

Job Summary:

Performs a wide variety of duties to help meet the pharmaceutical needs of the organization and its patients focusing on management of assigned specialty areas. Provides medication-related information to physicians, staff and community. Serves as a liaison to assigned patient care areas with responsibility for outcomes including patient satisfaction and quality measures. Mentors and educates pharmacy staff, residents, and students in the area(s) of specialty. Coordinates delivery of pharmeutical care within the assigned specialty by serving as the subject matter expert for order sets, patient care protocols, policy development/revision and multidisciplinary rounds.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from a recognized college or university; current NC pharmacy license required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred. Completion of accredited PGY1 residency program or 5 years of equivalent clinical experience preferred; specialty residency preferred. Board certification is required within 18 months of hire or within 18 months of initial date of eligibility, whichever occurs later. Must meet ASHP preceptor criteria. Excellent communication and teaching skills. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies. Knowledge of quality measures. Considerable skill in performing pharmacy procedures; Considerable ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members; Maintains active BLS and ACLS certification. Maintains PALS certification if required by specialty. Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.
