Job summary

Matrix Providers is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team providing health care to Military Service Members and families at 377th MDG Medical Treatment Facility in Albuquerque, NM. The position is an hourly coverage role with a bi-weekly pay schedule.

Requirements include Pharm.D., ACPE-accredited education, completion of a clinical residency or fellowship, one year of recent pharmacy experience, active licensure, BLS, and DEA registration.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from ACPE-accredited program.
  • One year of professional pharmacy experience in the last two years (as stated).
  • Current, full, active, unrestricted pharmacist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross.
  • DEA registration is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
  • Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the facility's personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities.
  • Counsel patients on proper medication use.
  • Review patient profiles at dispensing to monitor therapy.
  • Intervene with providers for discrepancies in directions, dosing, interactions, or allergies.
  • Compound medications as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of all products prepared or processed by staff.
  • Supervise inventory control and maintain security of scheduled substances.

Job description

Matrix Providers is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at 377th MDG Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) in Albuquerque, NM!

  • Employment Status: Coverage Position
  • Compensation: Hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $65.27-$68.70/hr
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight (8) hour period and no more than forty (40) hours per week, between 6:30 am and 5:30 pm

This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement. Union dues and pay rates are governed by the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements:

Must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
  • Internship/Residency: Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency or fellowship accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists or American College of Clinical Pharmacy or documentation of appropriate education, training, and/or CME in the practice of clinical pharmacy.
  • Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience within the last two (2) years.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
  • Certificate: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • DEA registration is required.
Job Summary:
  • Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures
  • Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the facility's personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities.
  • Counsel patients regarding the appropriate use of medications.
  • Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing to monitor medication therapy closely.
  • Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age-specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancies of the above-listed items.
  • Compound medications as required.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
  • Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security. Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
