Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Perfusionist to provide perfusion services and operate extracorporeal life support equipment for cardiothoracic procedures and critical care patients. You will monitor physiologic parameters, administer medications, blood products, and manage ECMO/ECLS circuits as part of the surgical and critical care teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related sciences.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred: Previous experience as a clinical perfusionist.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, operate, maintain and manage extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support equipment for patients having open heart surgery, high-risk invasive procedures, or other major surgery and medical patients, ensuring physiologic management during cardiopulmonary or circulatory support.
• Provide ECMO/ECLS program support with circuit selection, priming, initiation, and weaning; 24-hour in-house or bedside management as needed.
• On-call duties include nights, weekends and holidays; participate in device insertion, troubleshooting and multidisciplinary collaboration.
