Job summary

Merck is seeking a packaging and labeling operations specialist to support clinical packaging and labeling activities at our Rahway, NJ site. The role involves material, room, and equipment staging, execution, documentation, and room clearance, with hands-on training for new employees.

The position is full-time, on-site, with a shift structure and start/stop times, requiring daily presence five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cGMP and safety training to site requirements.
• Follow cGMP, SOPs and safety requirements in all activities.
• Report potential quality events and non-conformances to GMPs/SOPs.
• Ensure all paperwork is properly executed using GDP guidelines.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work may be requested.
• Interact with employees within own department and with other groups/departments.
• Support investigations and internal inspections.
• Undertake specific projects within the group as needed.
• Perform incoming material receipt, clinical site drug returns and sample management.
• Receive, inspect and store warehouse inventory; execute sample collection activities.
• Post and manage inventory (min/max, Excess & Obsolete).
• Coordinate discard process for expired/non-available inventory.
• Process order management and material staging for packaging/labeling centers.
• Provide emergency cold vault coverage as needed.
• Perform regular cycle counts; ensure inventory accuracy.
• Manage shipping, freight, and logistics (pick, pack, label, ship).
• Coordinate and prioritize warehouse activities as assigned.
• Distribute bulk and finished clinical materials.
