Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Clinical Ops Administrator for the Clear Lake Campus in a casual appointment. The role provides on-site clinical and operational leadership around the clock, coordinating admissions, bed management, and discharge planning while interfacing with physicians, departments, and the hospital administrator on call.

The administrator ensures staffing decisions during assigned hours, drives efficiency, and supports crisis management and policy interpretation to safeguard patient

Qualifications

• Three years acute care nursing experience (Emergency, Medical/Surgical, or Critical Care) required.
• Three years supervisory or management experience (e.g. Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor) required.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas.
• Certification in nursing specialty or administration required.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site clinical and operational leadership on a 24-hour basis.
• Coordinates admissions, bed management, and discharge planning.
• Acts as liaison for the hospital administrator on call and care services leadership.
• Oversees staffing decisions during assigned hours and finalizes staffing placements.
• Collaborates with physicians and departments to ensure patient care quality and efficiency.
• Responds to emergencies and supports risk management and policy interpretation.
