Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Patient Placement and Transfer Center Manager to oversee bed placement and transfer center functions across UTMB hospitals. You will coordinate timely bed assignments and transfers from referring facilities, leading a team of nurses and placement coordinators.

Responsibilities include managing 24/7 operations, budgeting, and process improvement to enhance patient access and experience. A Master's degree and ED/CC experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in healthcare, including three years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of multiple healthcare information system applications preferred.
• Five years of clinical practice preferred.
• Two years of emergency department/critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bed assignments and patient transfers across UTMB hospitals.
• Lead nurses and placement coordinators; ensure timely patient flow.
• Manage 24/7 clinical operations, staffing, quality assurance, compliance, analytics and budgeting.
• Monitor and improve processes to optimize patient access and experience.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the department; collaborate with leadership.
• Partner with HR to ensure policies and best practices are followed.
