Excelsior Orthopaedics in New York is seeking a Clinical Lead to coordinate the clinic and clinical team, ensuring compassionate, effective, and efficient patient care. You will supervise staff, organize duties, monitor performance, and support provider workflows.

The role requires an LPN/RN license, minimum five years medical office experience (supervisory preferred), and CPR certification; you will work with Operations and HR to uphold quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in health-related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years medical office experience.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • LPN or RN license required.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise clinical team members under supervision of a physician or provider.
  • Organize and assign duties and tasks to clinical staff.
  • Monitor daily performance and overtime; ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct 30-, 90-, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Assist with interviews; provide orientation and training on policies.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to clinical team issues.
  • Ensure policies comply with state/federal regulations; ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain patient flow and assist with provider orders and referrals.
  • Attend clinical meetings and relay information to the team.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, IT and other departments.

Education

Job SummaryThe clinical lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of the clinic and clinical team members to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of clinical care for patients.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and supervise the activities of clinical team members engaged in clinical care for patients under the supervision of a Physician or provider for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.Organize and assign duties and tasks to clinical team members.Monitor daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely; monitor and control overtime.Evaluate performance of clinical team members and conduct verbal and written performance evaluations after 30 days, 90 days, and annually as needed.Assist with interviews; conduct orientation and training on clinical policies and procedures.Identify and recommend solutions to clinical team member and office issues or problems.Ensure high quality clinical care for patients by reviewing and researching concerns or complaints and recommending corrective action as appropriate.Implement or recommend disciplinary action as needed in conjunction with Operations Manager and Human Resources department; document all disciplinary action.Ensure clinical equipment remains in operating condition.Ensure clinical policies and procedures comply with current state and federal regulations; identify and recommend policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality, compliance, accuracy, and cost efficiency; make decisions based on policies and procedures.Assist medical assistants, nurses, and providers with maintaining patient flow to ensure patients are seen efficiently.Assist medical assistants, nurses, and providers as needed by returning patient calls and completing provider orders such as medication refills, scheduling referral and/or specialist appointments, completing laboratory forms, and performing other tests as required.Attend clinical meetings and relay pertinent information to the clinical team in a timely fashion.Maintain effective working relationships with all departments including, but not limited to Operations, Human Resources, IT, etc.Requirements and QualificationMinimum Associates Degree in health-related field, Bachelors degree preferred.Minimum five (5) years medical office experience required.Supervisory or management experience preferred .LPN or RN license required.Other related certifications and licenses will be considered (i.e. Certified ATC, RT(R), MLT, CPhT).Physical DemandsCPR/First Aid/AED certified.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking.Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds-with assistance if needed.May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled-with assistance if needed.Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, and phone.The pay range for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, training, licenses, designations, and the overall market conditions.This job description does not state or imply that the duties and responsibilities listed are the only ones required of this position.
